Providing professional Web Content Management for SMEs and the Third Sector since 2003
11th Mar 2008
Over the last few months we have been focusing on the completion of Grelb and our re-brand. Things are moving along nicely and we should be launching our new website later this month, marking the beginning of a new era as we have never seriously conducted any internet marketing for our own company until now.
In the 5 years I have been a partner in Webbed IT - and the 35 plus years Mick ran the printing company before that - we have won all our work via word-of-mouth referrals and recommendations. Whilst this is one of the best ways to attract new business, and we are eternally grateful to those who like our work so much that they are willing to recommend us to their friends and colleagues, if you rely on this method alone you are never really sure when the next job is going to land in your lap.
We also realise that we should be practising what we preach, so have set about replacing our web page with a site to truly represent our company's full range of services and approach to business in general. We are still in the stages of creating our marketing strategy and plan to be as open as we can about what goals we have set for the site and how we have performed in trying to achieve them, including methods used and time-scales.
Please be patient with us as we are still a small company - for now - so resources are limited meaning the site will be in a period of infancy for some months to come. But, over time we will expand on the resources we offer as we do not want the site to be simply another online brochure.
Existing customers will have seen the new visual identity part of our re-brand used on their invoices, produced from our in-house designed Customer Relationship Manager software (lovingly named Kermit). Later this year clients will be provided with secure access to Kermit so they can check their account balance, view past statements, print out invoices, manage new orders and track any support queries.
We have so many other plans too - including affiliate schemes for our full range of services - but there are only so many hours in the day to complete all the above and keep up with customer projects, so some things have to sit on the back burner for a little while longer. However, the first feature we will be adding is a customer newsletter to notify you of all new features as they become available.
Getting information off the Internet is like taking a drink from a fire hydrant.
