Hurrell Bros switch from bespoke WCM to Grelb

24th Jan 2008

Hurrell Bros Ltd are already a client of ours but were running on a bespoke Web Content Management (WCM) system we had designed for them. Over the Christmas period we streamlined some of the core coding within Grelb - so future development will be easier - then tested it by recreating the Hurell Bros website.

Improved user interface

The main target when creating Grelb was to be able to present the backend as similarly as possible to the way the frontend looked when adding content. This allows the user to see what their page looks like as they build it piece by piece.

Our older bespoke WCM systems did not have this feature and as such the experience in the backend was very dis-jointed from that of the frontend meaning you had to flick between browser screens to see the true effect.

Sandy Sneddon of Hurrell Bros said:

"Whilst the old system was easy to use for someone without any technical knowledge, the way Grelb WCM is presented when adding content makes it so much easier now."

The website includes the following modules in addition to the core modules that come with Grelb:

  • Articles (Portfolio and News pages)
  • Form Builder (Contact form)
  • Quotes (produces random customer quotes)
