Holding Page Design - From just £150

You've been smart and registered a domain name - in doing so protecting your organisation's trading name.

Hopefully, you have then taken the next step by hosting the domain so you can use and advertise professional email addresses.

If so, that's great! You're organisation already appears more professional than those who advertise personal email addresses.

However ... you also need to provide a web page. Without one potential customers who try to view your domain will get a 'Page not found' message - or worse still an advert for another company.

5 quick reasons why you need a holding page whilst waiting to launch a full web site.

  • Brand reinforcement: No page equals no logo, tagline, telephone or email address
  • A 'Page not found' message or registrars advert will only send custom elsewhere
  • A single page can still create conversions, even if it is only an email or telephone call
  • Introduces your domain to search engines for quicker indexing when you do launch a full site
  • Allows people to link to your domain building PageRank

A holding page should take roughly 3-5 hours to create at our standard hourly rate of £50 (£150 - £250). For examples of holding pages we have created see below.

Example One: Diabetes Foundation

The Diabetes Foundation exists to support and advance research in the field of diabetes, particularly juvenile (insulin dependent) diabetes.

Whilst they were not ready to launch a full web site, they did plan to do so in the future. For now they needed to be able to use professional email and have a page which gave basic contact details.

Two domain names were registered and hosted before we created a business card type page. As the organisation was in it's infancy, they did not have a visual identity so the basic logo creation was also included.

This simple page has been indexed by Google and currently holds a PageRank of 2/10 which is a head start for when they do launch their full site. This benefit is better highlighted via a Google search for 'Diabetes Foundation' which sees the page placing as second behind Diabetes UK - a substantial site in existence since 1998.

Example Two: Meat of Excellence

Meat of Excellence are a butchers shop in Alnwick, Northumberland who champion locally bred produce as well as local crafts.

Webbed IT inherited this client from a local web agency who ceased trading and at that time they had a 5 page website which was dated in both style and content. The main problems with the site were:

  • Time-sensitive data (old prices and times)
  • Too many pages, too little content
  • Styling reflected poorly on the company

The client did not have the resources to keep a web site updated, therefore it was agreed time-sensitive information should be removed. This left information giving an overview of the business together with contact and location details.

The result was a single page website, indexed by Google bringing in traffic on keywords and phrases such as:

  • morpeth meat
  • meat shops rothbury
  • butchers in alnwick and powburn
  • home bred meats
  • butcher
  • local butchers
  • online butchers
